Deanna Coates, Project Lead, brings a thoughtful and highly personal approach to architecture, grounded in the belief that the strongest design outcomes emerge when the end user is deeply understood from the outset. With over six years of professional experience, she is most drawn to residential architecture, bringing five years of focused expertise in custom single family homes. Deanna thrives in the conceptual and schematic design phases, where close collaboration with clients helps shape clear, meaningful architectural ideas. Her parallel passion for interior design, which originally led her to pursue architecture, informs a sensitive approach to materiality, proportion, and lived experience.
At JGA, she has contributed to projects including Belle Station Phase 2 in Cobourg and several single family home designs in Northumberland County, balancing design ambition with practical execution.
Outside the studio, Deanna enjoys wheel throwing pottery, running, having completed her first half marathon in 2025, and hitting the slopes whenever she can.
